About Me
Hello, my name is Joanne... I love dogs, of all shapes
and sizes. I understand dogs, I understand their body language, what
makes them tick and the reasons they do the funny things that they do. I
believe that training your dog should be an enjoyable experience for you
both. I believe that your dog should do your bidding because he wants to
please you, not out of fear. The key to this is learning how to
communicate with your dog in a way that he understands, using kindness
and positive reinforcement.
I have worked with dogs for many years in a variety of
roles, from boarding kennels, to the
RSPCA re-homing unwanted dogs, to
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People as a puppy trainer. I know how to carry
out dog assessments, teach puppy socialisation and hold dog training
classes. I qualified as an Associate Member of the
Animal Care College,
covering dog assessment, training methods and problem solving. I am also a
member of the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme. I regularly
attend seminars, training courses and carry out courses to keep myself
up to date with modern training methods and new ideas.
We all love our pets and my hope is to make your
relationship with your dog a happy and satisfying partnership that lasts
for many years.
